leaves

Last night I had a beautiful walk in the warm evening sunshine. Wrapped up in a long coat and thick scarf, I stood at the cliff, staring off into the wild sea.
Cornwall has been so beautiful this week. I tend to often be quite …. towards living here, I would much rather be living in a city, with the buzz and most importantly, the different cultures that I miss everyday. I know this is where we are supposed to be right now, there is still much more for us to do. But in my heart, I do love our cornish towns; the picturesc landscapes, the sea, the quaint villages, our cornish tales (the legend of the gannel crake was taught to us in school as history!), and the fields reaching out forever. In fact, I think we aren't making the most of all this beauty, we need to adventure more!

The best thing of all is that it is finally Autumn, my favourite season for long walks. There are neatly gathered heaps of beautiful orange leaves, asking to be stamped through, and frost begins to settle over night, the air is crisp despite the glowing sun. I also love the layers! I've had real pleasure to pull out all my winter knits from a suitcase under the bed, and hang up all my thick, cosy coats. I've found hats and scarves and gloves I didn't know I had (also about six lonely partner-less gloves that I don't have the heart to throw out.) And I'm back on the knitting. Not that I really stopped, but when winter approaches, it gets serious.
I guess I get generally more creative, I draw more, paint more, and definitely sew more. I've started embroidering some sweet brooches of girls to sell in various places over winter. I may even sell some online if I think people will buy (let me know if you're interested, they can be of you!)
Well, I must leave you, we're off to watch I am Love. xxx

  1. Lovely post--fall feels bittersweet for lots of reasons everywhere I suppose. I also love the stitched girls!
